One day in Venice
Venice, the city with “singing” canals, is unique and fascinating. Walk with us through the cobbled streets to see the highlights of Venice; to hear all about its history and most important traditional districts. The tour begins in Saint Mark’s square – the true center of Venice. Saint Mark square and Basilica are the city symbols, and the greatest example of the Byzantine art in Italy. After a short introduction, we will visit the beautiful Basilica, rich in Medieval masterpieces and astonishing, preserved mosaics. Our second stop will be the Dogi Palace – Palace of the Venice Republic. With its paintings, frescoes, stuccos and prisons, this is the symbol of politics and social life in Venice. A short walk through beautiful, narrow streets will lead you to Rialto bridge – another well-known symbol of the city. From this point, shown in many paintings of Venice, we have a wonderful view of the famous Canal Grande, its noble buildings, ferries and elegant gondolas. After crossing the bridge you will visit the bustling Rialto fish market, where Venetians every day buy fresh fish. With the ferry we will reach the oldest Jewish ghetto in the world, located in the Giudecca island. Here we may enjoy a walk through the many tiny picturesque streets, exploring local shops, admiring fascinating buildings and the true Venician spirit. Our tour reaches completion in front of the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a Renaissance building of the city.
